Big Event more popular than ever
Its my impression but I think this years Big Event in Margate has been far more popular than previously. Unfortunately I adjourned to the hungry horse before the evenings entertainment but I assume that it would have been as good as last years.
I didn't go either but I've heard several complaints today from people who did about the cost of things and the lack of detail as to what was happening when. As a result, I was told, many left before the Red Arrows appeared.
Also I have to ask how much money goes into the local eceonomy as obsevers tell me most people they saw had brought picnics, boycotted the stands and funfair.
Looked incredibly successful to me. Huge crowds yetsreday until the last act and a good turnout today. Just what we need to get the summer seadon off to a good start. I even saw that there was music at the old bandstand opposite the Smiths Hotel, and I was told that it is the same every Sunday afternoon. This is much more like it. It seems even in recession the council can put events on that people want.
No 6:47. But you must be apologist for Labour. Only one of that party would look to smear the efforts of the council to put on a show that does good for Thanet. Will the Labour party guarantee the even if they take power?
Fantastic 2 days of entertainment. My sources tell me that the T.D.C Events Team are resposible for this event and i understand that consists of just 2 people. How do they do it and why are bigger firms not snapping them up. Well done to TDC and lets give praise where praise is due!
Thanks Tony I was at work and missed it and won’t be able to go today either.

Was that your observation, Tony?

ReplyDeleteThe Big Vent.
ReplyDeleteAnyone spot the huge irony of the aircraft's exhaust pollution obscuring the half built Wind Farm?

I will when there is an event that deserves it.
