In 1997, I along with probably most of the country felt things could only get better as the rather irritating pop tune used by New Labour kept reminding us.
Twelve years later, what was it, that could have got better, well for me, it was the climate and constant stream of sleazy scandals involving Conservative politicians.
Did things get any better under Labour clearly not, since they’ve had their fare share of scandals, from early on the Blair’s first Foreign Secretary, was given an half hour ultimatum dump his mistress/wife or lose his job, rather cowardly the wife was dumped, since then we’ve seen Peter (what a chump) Mandelson resign and come back for the third time.
Labour lords and MP’s have it seems spent more time devising creative ways to fleece the taxpayer by deploying in many cases clearly fraudulent claims for expenses than doing anything to improve the lives of those who voted them in.
Its worth noting on many occasions Bignews Margate has pointed out Labours negligent care of the working people in our community, but the only thing that ever stirred Thanet’s supreme Labour being (not Clive) S Ladyman MP into response was the issue of expenses and I’m sure he still believes that despite his sixty grand plus salary he’s entitled to claim food expenses which I assume he is but is it right?
Still who could blame Labour’s minnows, Blair did little for anyone but himself, and now after plunging this country into a pointless war in Afganistan, and getting out of office before the Sh*t hit the fan the final nightmare is the possibility of Blair the European President head of an un elected crooked State.
Still if you’d like to know more about Tony Blair check out his website with the in no way megalomaniac title of “The office of Tony Blair”, another pompous Labour Chump I think.
Lovely stuff Tony.
ReplyDelete"Blair the European President head of an un- elected crooked State". Sounds like you've plagiarised my election address from 2005!
I reckon no more than 80 seats for Labour next time round. That's 80 too many.
On the expenses row, it is interesting to note that Roger Gale proudly boasts of buying his shirts in Primark when he has to pay for them out of his own pocket, yet when he buys towels and WE pay for them, he has the best money can buy - Egyptian cotton no less ! He should hang his head in shame and stop with the begging bowl. How many houses does he own now ? Is it 3 at the last count, a manor house, a bungelow and a barn in France. Yes, he certainly does seem to represent a deprived constituency doesn't he.
ReplyDeleteI never knew you had stood for public office Jeremy but better luck next time assuming you were unsuccessful
ReplyDeleteAnon 4:52 the difference between Roger Gale is that he has represented honestly himself as a Conservative.
Stephen Ladyman along with much of the Labour party appears indistinguishable from mainstream Conservatives, and as I mentioned earlier expenses do seem to be a major preoccupation of many Labour MP's
Blair plunger us into an allagedly illegal war with Iraq.
ReplyDeletePlease do not forget the role of Thor Chemicals in the questionable Intelligence case made that Saddam had WMD.
My FOI application to Environment Agency revealed the history of Thor contaminating aquifer with mercury and mixed solvent.
At the time George Galloway spoke out against the plan to invade Iraq I sent money to support his cause of the right of an MP to be heard in the Commons. Even though I am a tory voter (now Popular Alliance)
I was attacked for this by Thanet SWP on the letters page of IoT Gazette. But Steve Ladyman was questioned by me before the invasion what did he know about Thor.
I now even wonder if the Sericol contamination of the aquifer was kept secret (till my FOI application) because it suited certain powers that be, right from the early 90s. not to have Thanet aquifer contamination issues publicly raised.
Now I think it a reasonable question whether K Laundry at Northwood was supplied by its own abstraction and hence drawing up for laundry a pretty heavily locally contaminated supply for decades.

ReplyDeleteBitch bitch bitch bitch bitch,
Thing is.. if we didn't have Roger representing us, would we really want the equivalent to yourself, a snivelling sniping petty person in his place?
He's worked hard for nearly 30 years for north thanet, why can't he have his own house abroad like thousands of other hard workers have these days? Jealousy gets you nowhere. And get your facts right, he doesn't live in a manor house, he lives in an old farmhouse.
My family's worked hard from a working class background, would you slight them for having 2 homes? a hot tub? perhaps becuase they enjoy a 2 week holiday in somewhere other than spain?
Roger is an honest man. There are only a certain number of decent MPs and he is certainly one of them.
Go back to your hole and get a life.
In the next General Election I really wouldn't know who to vote for as basically the majority of politicians are all alike and so are their parties. They ay promise many things and offer change but when it comes to it they all act the same and will all have the same problems as previous governments.

ReplyDelete8:39 I've not visited it for a while, last time was just out of idle curiosity, finding the still obsessive abuse I moved on so maybe he has.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that the author has crashed his bike and hope he makes a good recovery, maybe he has the time to ponder the difference between truth and reality.
