Tony Blair the missing Middle East Peace Envoy - Its all about Israel

Tony Blair former Labour Prime Minister and now "Statesman" apparently available for hire to anyone, with customers as diverse as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Israel (I think he does the last one for free, to keep his American clients happy) has taken a low profile during the current attack by Israel on defenceless citizens in his role as Peace Envoy to the Middle East.

Still it's understandable that he'd wants keep out of things since his last Statement  Monday, would I think show any reasonable person, just how biased he is toward Israel,  "But as I have said throughout this latest crisis, the only long-term solution that makes sense is one that gives hope to the people of Gaza that it will be opened back up to the world and its people allowed peace from violence of all kinds; and one which gives Israel real and permanent security from rocket attacks, tunnels and terrorism.

To me his statement acknowledges Gaza's desire for peace, however he doesn't mention Gaza's right to self-determination, and seems to swallow wholesale the buzz word PR of the Israeli military "rocket attacks", "tunnels" and "terrorism" , clearly Gaza's rocket attacks are a threat but not in the same class as Israel's more sophisticated and potent weaponry, tunnels Israel controls the boarders with the outside world keeping the people of Gaza as prisoners deprived of medicines and food, as has been explained this week Israel can, using it's high tech weapons, focus it's attacks on Hamas leaders and execute without trial those it deems to be enemies according to Israeli war criminals, children and other civilians who are the main victims clearly don't matter.

I wonder if Tony Blair actually believes his own publicity, does he not stand back and wonder what the difference is between Israel a country that has occupied and bullied the Palestinian people, in their own territories for all my adult life. Israel I don't doubt will remain the lawless abuser of people that it has been for so long, propped by America and European governments, still I'm sure despite the revolting PR machine Israel employs, I think many more of us now read between the lines, I for one find it inexplicable that Israel is not described more often as a terrorist state.

As for all those repressive corrupt regimes that bank role Blair, apparently on the false assumption that he lends some respectability to repressive regimes, save your money.

Both Israel and Gaza deserve peace but Israel will surely never have peace until stops abusing Palestinians. I'd like to see Western politicians stand up against Israel before we see more children murdered by Israel because they happen to be Palestinian.

  1. Does your Party - UKIP - have an official policy on the Middle East? I realise that you have set out your personal opinions here - to which you are absolutely entitled - but I just wonder what your Party's stance is.

  2. These are personal views I could ask what views Labour have. UKIP is not my party but since your Labour lot Tories and Libdems all refuse discuss the EU I will not vote for any party in euro elections that support the continued surrender of sovereignty to a class of nonelected eurocrats.

I dont know what policy if any the Lib Dems have toward Israel but I would assume that most members are heartily sick of Israeli abuse of Palestinians. Israel seems to be in the hands of ruthless who will do anything to continue its illegal occupation of Palestine, which includes murdering women and children.

    1. This one should interest you, Tony, it concerns one of your pet peeves - multiculturalism:

  3. I have no affiliation to Labour whatsoever. From your posts, I cannot believe the Liberal Democrats will let you stay with them, given that you promoted the UKIP cause and actively encouraged others to vote for them - your entitlement of course. Most people acquire knowledge about a Party before they vote and certainly before they act as a mouthpiece for that Party. Clearly you are different.

    1. Clearly you are some rather shallow person, my post concerns the war crimes carried out by the Israeli defence force, (defending itself by murdering child and women ) since you posted your first comment around a hundred men women children all mainly civilians have been killed

  4. I'm not shallow, but I'm not sure you're really concerned for those - on both sides - affected by the conflict. If you were, you'd be looking at the stance being taken by the protagonists locally, and by governments around the world. Focusing just on Tony Blair suggests to me you simply want to take another pop at the Labour Party - an activity with which you seem to be unhealthily obsessed.

What steps would you and/or your UKIP colleagues take?

    1. Tony Blair is emblematic of the politicians, siding with and swallowing wholesale Israeli military leaders propaganda, ignoring the fact that Israel has imprisoned a whole people many years.

  5. They're behind this plane disaster, I think, Tony, together with the fascist Kiev junta.

Rocky road ahead in the build up to military action against Russia, who had already been tried and convicted by the Western corporate media before the black boxes had been recovered. The CIA said that Ukraine military brought the plane down.

I think the powers that be will apply sanctions, which will result in a shortage of Russian gas in Europe, which will give them a pretext to push full steam ahead with the fracking agenda.... if we let them.

This disaster, and the resulting flood of anti-Putin propaganda, has also conveniently pushed the atrocities in Gaza off of the front pages.

I agree with you that the Israel needs reining in, but don't expect Western governments to do it, any time soon. Not unless their populations vehemently demand. Unfortunately Israel takes it's cues from the Iron Fist in London, as does every other nation in the "free world".

As for Bliar keeping a low profile, perhaps he's had enough of being citizen-arrested, for crimes against humanity, everytime he pops out for a bit of nosh with his family?

  6. What about Manston and Riveroak and LibdemsTaiwan Tone? How can the costs of the pollution be indemnified by Riveroak? Won't they just fiddle the figures like Infratil or recharge TDC eventually? Or, as now, just leave the site contaminated?

  7. And how many airport jobs would be re-recruited with Riveroak? All the supposed 150 - or a lot less? And the same people that couldn't make a go of it? And how long would Riveroak subsidise £12k a day losses? Looks like the usual TDC mess.

  8. Israel is not fighting the Palestinians. She is fighting Hamas. Hamas has declared that the state of Israel should not exist. Hamas has vowed to wipe Israel of the face of the earth. How can Israel negotiate with that..

Hamas fire rockets into Israel and Israel fire rockets at Hamas in Gaza. Israel defends herself with a state of the art anti-missile system. Hamas hides behind its civilian population by concealing its launchers in schools, hospitals, mosques and the like.

The Palestinians were negotiating with Israel and peace was in sight. Until the Americans forced them to have an election, the result of which was a Hamas government that refuses to negotiate. It is true that Hamas was elected; but then so was Hitler.

I have visited all the countries in the area including Israel. Believe me this problem is not as simple as some living in distant lands try to make out.

Oh just for the record I am a gentile.

    1. Well, that is the official narrative John.

Of course Hamas is really in cahoots with the Israelis, just as Hitler was with the British Establishment, just as the IRA was with British Intelligence.

If you go high enough up the food chain, you will find that all roads lead to the puppet masters in the City of London.

By the way John, I've been meaning to ask you, did you cross paths with Anthony Burgess during your career? His masterpiece, "A Clockwork Orange" is turning out to be rather prophetic.

  9. Riveroak's new letter simply restates Manston as a cargo airport. Why would it be a success? Presumably with 24 hour night flights which are not acceptable? TDC can easily confirm neither night flights nor housing would be allowed. And the pollution clean up costs and aquifer to Riveroak and see what they say. And the airport is now closed so full planning permission would be required rather than the usual TDC rigged version.

  10. Why do Riveroak think they can make manston a success as an airport after all the years of failure?

  12. Am I the only person who thinks that at least three of the cpo "experts" on thanetonline are in fact the same person? They've also written some potentially libelous things about Riveroak.

  14. Hundreds of people have died during the recent conflict in Gaza and Israel. Whatever we, individually, think of the views expressed in the original post, is it really necessary or appropriate to highjack the strand to talk more about the bloody airport at Manston?

  15. Manston has flown emergency supplies to war zones many times in the past and could do again.
