Dreamland evacuated

Rain stops play at dreamland, due to heavy rain and possible lightning, about 1.50 pm today security bods removed the public from the amusement park, and into the entrance area.

Still on the plus side is been a great day so far, with a test train on the scenic railway, I assume punters such as myself and grand kids will be back in the park shortly.

No refunds are available the park is technically open although visitors have been turfed out and not allowed back in at this stage. 14.26

Sun is out and so are paying guests , outside the amusement park with still no concrete information, when or if it will open.

@15:01 the sun has been out for ten minutes and Dreamland park is still not open and still no news as why or when the park reopens.

With no information left the park @15:20.

In my view this situation was badly handled, it may well have made sense to evacuate the park during heavy rain for safety reasons but not informing
customers what is happening and when the park might reopen is inexcusable.

I visited the park at the weekend and was very impressed with everything, the staff were very professional and helpful, the mood was good enhanced by various entertainment, facilities clean, the rides in good condition, overall I thought the experience as pleasurable as any park.

East Kent Sacrificed as France damages the UK Economy

Cutting through the back roads early this morning on the way into Margate, my attention was drawn to work at Manston airport to create a lorry park, it struck me in the dim light, as a somewhat weird and sinister sight, a line of tower lights have been placed along on the runway.

As I drove down Spitfire Way, I'm thinking,  how the hell are hundreds of trucks going to negotiate their way to the airport. (At its peak more 6,800 trucks have used the channel tunnel in one day).

Spitfire Way is a signifcant route out of Thanet travelled by many of us, who have to go outside the area for work it looks like commuters and those who live in Manston will be stuffed ,still the fat cat Tory masters in Maidstone and Etonian low lifes in Downing St. or indeed property speculators wont be losing any sleep.

It's some time since I last posted but the creation of a lorry park, at Manston is worth a mention,  my main thought is that, this may not have been possible without the Leadership of Kent County Council,  Paul Carter, has I understand has often suggested such a thing and has now got his way. So far his administrations has had many achievements traffic management is not one that comes to mind, in fact it's the controversies I recall, such as the failed broadcasting project, poor children services and fat payoffs to staff for reasons that have never been explained.

The background to the chaos at our channel ports, is the UK governments ineffectual reaction to repeated attacks by French activists. I think the Labour had it right the other day (not that they did Jack **** when in government) but its about time the government demanded compensation from France.

Part of the current disruption to cross channel traffic is caused by the plight of migrants, and I can understand why, they are so determined to get to the UK, however when we see the news, perhaps a question to ask is why are refuges are sleeping in tents and shacks, France is a rich country couldn't they do better.

My theory is that the limp attempts to keep channel crossings open are part of the French authorities conducting a covert economic war, some of the recent disruption has come from industrial disputes, it seems that France allows special interest groups to run riot, can anyone imagine Kent police to allowing trade unionist to blockade roads with mountains of burning car tyres such has recently been the case.

When will Cameron and his cronies man up and sort out France. It looks like Thanet is about to be cut off by the lunatic scheme to divert lorries 60 Miles from the channel ports.
