Margate Torched

Thanks to Mrs Me for the photographs, unfortunately I myself was busy on vital work on the countries transport infrastructure, this last Thursday and as you might all know, a bit cynical where the Olympics are concerned.

I doubt that any of us would eschew the nobility of athleticism, it's just all the blood suckers from the top knobs through to purveyors of unhealthy food and spivs in the security business making it more Shambollix than Olympics.

I understand that there was a good turnout from the public and of course the usual compliment of local politicians looking for a photo opp and something to fill their day, it appears the public were excluded from the gallery for an cosy photo, including county councillor Mike Hill a leading member of the secretive Conservative administration, Clive Hart leader of Thanet Labour and Cllr Will Scobie, who it has been rumoured was given the role of Margate mayor, so that he can get himself elected to Kent County Council next year and trouser KCC allowances currently 13 grand a year, which added to Thanet council allowances is probably better than working for a living.

Not sure why Amada Honey, Corporate Director of Customer and Communities, had to leave her desk in these times of austerity to look at a flame, particularly since her salary is costing the taxpayer around £660 a day (calculated at £159,000 PA divided by 48 working weeks 5 days a week not allowing for public sector sickies or indeed jollies, events, training sessions, seminars or any of that malarkey) but hell why not.

  1. Yes unfortunately the sheeple are out in force especially the councillors and mayors who think that we are the cranks for trying to wake up the people to what is really going on all hidden in plain sight.

A very important message to those who are awake please pay close attention to Israel.

    1. I am absolutely fed up with the continual fighting throughout the world, such savage actions we have gone back to the stone age, when we should have progressed to a decent way of living. People now believe they are entitled to be pay for doing nothing, people are supposed to be intellegent yet the continue to breed more than 40 years ago, expecting tax payers to support them. I hate how life has become, my great grand father, grand father and father fought in wars to give a better life for the future, this was all for nothing, juist look at the state of the world all over, I shall be glad when I go to a more peaceful place.

  2. Well we really have forgotten how to enjoy ourselves if Tony and Mr. Plot above are to be believed. Strangely enough though, I joined a happy throng of people and kids in Broadstairs High Street who cheered everything from motor cycle cops to buses in the wait for the torch. OK, so maybe some fat capatalist is making a couple of bob whilst some union dinosaur is elsewhere using it to flex his muscles, but who cares. As long as people, and particularly the young, get some happiness out of it, why be so miserable.

What would chummy of the impending gloom have us do. All hide away waiting for armeggedon or do we rise up and create the same kind of anarchy as is sweeping the middle east. Or maybe, we wave our flags and cheer whatever home grown success comes the way of our sports people.

    1. Oh I dunno Tom. I haven't had so much fun for ages as I have dissing this farce and reading others dissing on a daily basis.
Hubby and I are in constant hysterics at the ongoing bread buttering/gravy train riding/banana republic incompetence that has accompanied this event.

  4. Hi All

You'll have to forgive me, apart from being busy and bored, I've also been tired but this morning I've woken refresh and thank god as cynical as ever.

On the Middle east diversion it's not relevant, although lets never forget Israel is every bit as dangerous any other state in that region.

Finally I have tweaked considerably with this post since some these comments were made @ 9:20

  6. You should have been at Birchington - the Parish council set up a VIP stage for themselves at the square! The only councillor I saw actually doing anything was Alistair Bruce and he was working as a marshall as far away from the stage as possible. I would like to thank his wife - don't know her name - for helping me get a good spot with my wheelchair. She took no notice of the 'stage' and treated several of us like a VIP.
This is meant to be the peoples Olympics - not just for the unelected parish nobs!

I'd like to seen a few scratch card customers, randomly chosen to carry the torch since it is they not the Lord Coe's and Boris Johnson's of this world who paying for this celebration but we the people.

  7. When has a senior KCC oficer every taken just 4 weeks holiday a year? There was also a time when public sector workers got an extra day off for ever bank holiday. Add another £30K to Amanda Honey's package for pensions.

How did she get to Margate? I dont think it was on the bus.

    1. Probably a nice chauffeur driven car or would that only be for the likes of Alex King. If the comment on here (most of which I completely agree with especially the last one)is anything to go by looks like Amanda Honey is a 'favorite' with Carter so maybe this is why she was chosen ?

  8. I understand that only 4 or 5 councillors out of the entire district council worked as marshalls that day. The rest just went for the glory...........nothing changes.

  9. Actually, 11:57, quite a few councillors, admittedly mostly Tories, were at work doing their day jobs.

  10. For the few who actually want to know the truth best listen to Abel Danger RMN Radio Broadcast - Wednesday July 18, 2012 listen to all 3 parts

For the whole filthy lot behind this present farce and much more that has been kept hidden from the public which will sicken decent people.

  11. Not disputing that Tom - but I'm talking about those councillors that turned up , as I say most were just there for the glory, only a handful actually helped.

  12. Young Scobbie for a KCC seat ? I am sure that Clive Hart would like to get back on KCC and will have first pick of where to stand. A bit of insurance for him. There are plenty of examples of council leaders that pick up in excess of £40k for doing both even though they complain how busy they are just being a councillor on one counci. They doth protest too much, methinks.

    1. It's good that Clive Hart can run the council what with being unable to work and all, in fact a miracle, still its worth remembering that Clive crumble last time at KCC preferring to spend time with his constituents.

As for young Will once he's been elected onto KCC he will then hand back the Mayors job to Iris Johnson.

    2. The honest KCC councillors if there is such a thing will tell you that you have to be asked or in other words you are not elected BUT selected to win in advance.

  15. Presumably you have seen Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman on 13th June 2012 where he quizzes 3 people who appear to be running Social Services. The questions include why are children being placed in seaside secret children's homes in close proximity to paedohile hostels and why local police in these areas are NOT TOLD of these secret children's homes. councillors from margate appeared on the show by tele link. They appeared very respectable but expressed that they could not understand why London Boroughs send children to Margate given the "problems" in the area. They did not specify what these problems were.

I personally felt that Jeremy (with his 'fierce' reputation) was being very "gentle" with the three leaders of social services. For example he did not ask the question as to why the local police in these areas were NOT being told.
