NORTHDOWN HOUSE Version 4.1
Not compatible with earlier Northdown House stories
Just a quick one and at the time of writing I'm waiting more information, it now seems that Thanet Leisure Force who operate leisure facilities on behalf of the council, have decided not carry on taking bookings for the venue and local treasure.
Not quite sure about the details on this but isn't Leisure Force owned by the council?
From email received today "The TLF decision to cease taking bookings after 31 Dec is a matter
for TLF"
I cannot reveal my source since the bit on bottom suggests should I do so, TDC Rottweillers will be unleashed.

Tony, TLF aren't owned by TDC, they are a separate company (an Industrial and Provident Society to be correct) who simply deliver leisure services on behalf of the council. There are loads of such Arm's Length Management Organisations around the country, Vista Leisure is Dover's equivalent. Most of TLF's money comes from TDC (and with funding their must be a degree of control) but they are actually a separate company who take their own decisions.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I think you're dead right to keep on top of this story - you've got a real nose for what's actually important. Some other blogs (no names) rely on style over substance and just repeat, regurgitate and reveal very little.
A matter for TLF? What a f***ing cheek. Who do they think pays their salaries?
ReplyDeletePerhaps they would like to answer a FOI request for reasons.
ReplyDeleteWe must presume that TLF are acting as the 'contractor' for TDC and that TDC has given them these instructions. Point your questions in the direction of what has TLF been told by TDC.
ReplyDeleteThere's a rumour abound that TDC now plan to relocate staff to the lower floor as offices but that hasnt been said publicly. Would still leave the upper floors empty though - another case of Albion House here?
