Labour hypocrisy and the Chinese Circus

I can understand athletes, sports men and women, being over come by the spirit of the Olympics, the ideals of the Olympics etcetera but when the Prime Minister, takes part in what was a PR exercise for the corrupt and abusive Chinese regime, it just underlines how out of touch he and his government are.

China as we all know occupies Tibet and ruthlessly puts down opposition which is at odds with much of Labours own policies (I think), of encouraging the break up of the United Kingdom, and open boarders, so just what the hell is Gordon Brown allowing this Chinese PR Circus into downing Street, even more offensive is the sight of what I take to be Chinese security pushing and shoving participants about outside 10 Downing Street. Click here to see video.
I read somewhere that Gordon Brown had taken on a new advisor to stop stupid gaffs, well it doesn't look like its working. Still one outcome is that news today, that china has killed or is that murdered 8 rioters, will move to the back pages, doubt we will not hear any labour ministers speaking too loudly on that issue.

Finally this torch waving PR is promoted as a journey of Harmony, which clearly its not, one thing we all ought to remind ourselves is that the Olympics sports run for two weeks, the bullshit goes on forever.

  1. A great paradox of our time. We send thousands of troops overseas to help people fight for oil...er...sorry...freedom and yet we rub up against the country whose record on civil rights is among the most sullied. Britain should boycott the Olympics in Beijing. Mind you, the Western Nations have ignored the genocide in Tibet for 50 years. Why should that change now? The only thing more sickening is the weak minded trumpeting on about how our participation in the outdated and wasteful enterprise is an opportunity to draw attention to the situation. Bo**ox.

  3. Theres this silly argument going round that sport and politics shouldnt mix, which has been peddled by the Government amongst many many others. Funny how its OK for the Olympic torch to come around Britain and to talk about sport and politics being separate but to object to the Zimbabwean Cricket team coming for a tour of Britain...

  4. It's not just Labour cosying up to the Chinese. How about TDC's trip there to facilitate the building of Chinamex? Which, of course, the taxpayer will subsidise by putting in all the infrastructure.

Ah, but that will bring jobs to Thanet, so let's turn a blind eye, eh?

  5. So True! I hear they are bringing a steel processing plant with them.

As for the sport/politics argument, the same thing was said when the pitch was dug up in the test with South Africa in the 60's.
    It's rubbish.

  6. There are, in my experience, two types of politician. The ones with radical ideas like freedom, health and happiness and the ones the party puts up for election.
