Spotted this morning during a break, in North London a LadyBird .
In other news Britain goes to war against Libya, still as extraordinary as spotting a Ladybird in March is, I don't expect the UK to be attacking Robert Mugabe's zimbabwe any time soon.
The action against Libya required an Arab nod of approval, a UN resolution and a reasonable coalition of nations to make it possible.
ReplyDeleteSuch could never be obtained against Zimbabwe. However unpopular Mugabe may be, the African nations would never sanction western military action and there is no one else capable of carrying it out.
Add the logistical problems of attacking a land locked country over other nations that would deny use of their airspace and there you have it. Despite the popular theory it has nothing to do with oil.
Even Harold Wilson discovered he could not do it when he wanted to bring down Ian Smith's Rhodesia. All he could manage, with much larger forces than we have today, was an ineffective naval blockade of the port of Beira in Mozambique.
Crikey Bill, it can't be often that Harold Wilson crops up on the Interweb, still as a kid in short trousers Ian Smith did seem to be a bit of a swine for not giving way to a democratic hand over of power.
ReplyDeleteYears later compareing the Mugabe and Smith there is no contest Mugabe has bought his country to it's knees and murdered many
No attack on Bahrain either. They're killing their own people, but of course the Coalition Government is a bit friendly with the regime there.
ReplyDeleteAnon 1:57, it is a bit unreasonable to single out the Coalition government. This is a UN approved action, involving many nations and having the support of HM Opposition.
ReplyDeleteMind you, I do agree that situations developing elsewhere in the Arab world should attract a similar response if they get out of hand. I suppose it depends on the level of violence and the numbers killed.
What a load of utter tosh from Bill Richards.
ReplyDeleteIn reality, the banker funded rebel forces failed to topple Ghadaffi, so now the banker controlled UN is ordering allied western forces to invade, illegally, under the guise of 'humanitarian intervention'.
The majority of Libyans are quite happy under their current regime and do not want the Anglo/American imperialists anywhere near their beloved Libya.
No it is not about oil, it's about global control.
3:50 As ever it is you that spouts your global control tosh, if I might use your expression.
ReplyDeleteNot only do you endeavour to thrust your views on others but by rubbishing the contributions of other commentators you even deny reasonable debate. In other words, decrying the very freedom of speech and democracy you claim to support.
Presumably in your book, because some people in Libya support Gadaffi it is OK for him to murder those that don't. Your reasoning gets increasingly bizarre.
Ive got a solution send Hart and Poole there, they know how to get rid of threats to their position
ReplyDeleteDon't believe the hype Bill/Geronimo/Bluenote, according to the FSB, Russian satellite photos uncovered no evidence of the Libyan air force strafing their own people.
ReplyDeleteSure, they attacked the banker funded rebels in the border region, but the rebels were intent on overthrowing Libya's government. They also rounded up a number of British and Dutch SAS agents.
You are merely parrotting the Ministry of Truth version, which is utter tosh, old fruit.
Anon 04:40:00 utter tosh, old fruit. Yep your right
ReplyDeleteWell I certainly don't believe the hype put out by you 4:40 and I suppose, if I am already Geronimo and Bluenote, I will also now by Aka Don. What is it with you, can't you accept that more than one person thinks you are a couple of prawns short of a bar-b-que.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you read The God Delusion and then you can start spouting Richard Dawkins as fact. Then maybe, he is part of the bankers plot as he has a couple of bob.
Bill dont get wound up by someone trying to bait you
ReplyDeleteGood point, Don, I guess I should know better. Stick with the ladybird methinks and be happy about spring.
ReplyDeleteJust keep watching the BBC Bill, and when they tell you the financial collapse was caused by Muslim terrorists, you will have someone to blame for losing nearly everything you have worked for. Whatever you do, don't blame it on the bankers.
ReplyDeleteOh, but I don't for I know it was all down to Gordon Brown!
ReplyDeleteToo busy poking their noses into other countries business whilst still causing mayhem in their own, now why doesn't this come as a surprise.
ReplyDeleteTories blasted for handbook on paralyzing Parliament

“Both Davies and Goodale agreed that the recent dysfunction may be part of a long term Tory strategy to persuade voters that minority Parliaments don't work, that they need to elect a majority next time.”
What a sad waste of rations!

ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me that Cadbury have never taken you and covered you with chocolate!
The video clearly shows Gaddafi is no fool and one of the reasons why millions in Libya still support him. Cameron and Sarkozy have so far come of the initial conflict looking like saviours when in fact they have now started something it might be incredibly hard to finish. As usual we are being fed the usual propaganda from the British media, I wonder if anyone there really knows who exactly the 'Rebel' forces are and have they any real leadership? Sounds like a recipe for another middle east disaster.

like this quote from another site its so true
" Well, (a) if you work with the Devil you must take the consequences.
And (b) did you think a bunch of professional liars with an agenda to hijack your lands would actually tell you the truth?? "

ReplyDeleteLove your comment but that would be a waste of good chocolate! And with Easter just around the corner Cadbury's probably have other plans for their precious beans...
This blog does seem to be full of paid trolls to prevent the truth from being recognised or their game is up. We should cover them in chocolate, but then again they would probably like being covered in cheap goo! goes with the territory !
ReplyDeleteMind you the bankers, back pockets bulging with bonuses, have bought the hardware to steal another chunk of land and oil.

Shinguard, I believe the rebels are Sunni Al Qaida hailing from Saudi Arabia (Wahabi mercs?)
ReplyDeleteAnon 03.57
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me what lengths they will go to (on this blog and further afield) to gag the truth. But there again money and power/position are major motivators. They only get caught out when someone comes along who is prepared to speak out with the truth rather than sell their soul.
!0:43 I think you will find that the aspirations of the Sunni Arabs and Al Quaida are diametrically opposed.
ReplyDeleteThat said, let not the facts stand in the way of another good conspiracy plot.
3:57 & 11:54 As one of the gaggers let me just say what a load of spherical objects you do come up with in your comments.
ReplyDelete1:05, that all depends where you get your 'news'.
ReplyDeleteI think it is more to do with branch of Islam than news source. It is mainly fundamentalists who link into terror.
ReplyDeleteLike I said though, don't let the facts spoil a good conspiracy theory.
7:02, Al Qaida was a creation of Robert Gates/Zbigniew Brezhinski/Jimmy Carter, the name translates as 'the base' from database, they're not islamic fundamentalists but 'terrorist' thugs for hire to western intelligence agencies... as Robin Cook tried to warn us shortly before his untimely death.

something else they forgot to tell us about
ReplyDelete“The Criminal Class has once again roped us in to be their accomplices in murder for the sole benefit of paying a bit less for fuel. That’s handy if extraordinary amounts of people have to drive their irradiated children to hospital 5 days a week. Unofficially, it’s called Fallujah Syndrome and if you have a strong stomach, this video illustrates what may be coming if we don’t finally rein in our ‘elected’ homicidal psychopaths.”

8:56 So f***ing what! You really are the most boring of people.
ReplyDeleteCan't you get it into your thick skull that on a Thanet blog people discuss things of local interest and we are not interested in your theories.
How ignorant to believe that anything outside of Thanet wont affect us and as for theories that's just plain ridiculous. We are not all brain dead !
ReplyDeleteOf course things outside Thanet will affect us but there is a time and a place. No we are also not all brain dead, but in your case it might be a relief if you were.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I do not mean to be unpleasant, but you are a crushing bore and never seem to get the message however many people tell you.
Gadaffi had corn flakes for breakfast.
