Labour Disturbs the Sunday ambiance

Thank god I was busy building railways yesterday, otherwise a peaceful Sunday would have been disturbed by the dull thud of Labour propaganda which on its own I can take, however its the hypocrisy, no mention of Labour's attack on job creation, improved  infrastructure, social housing or even more remarkable de-selecting one of their ablest councillors.

Still most disappointing is Clive Harts waffle at the back of their pre-election leaflet no mention of accusations made about his competence to lead even more remarkable he makes no mention of his offer to resign as leader.

Can you trust Thanet Labour, I don't think so. Cllr Sandra Hart also thanks all residents who've contacted her and I thought she had the hump when I received this comment referring to myself from Clive's Mrs "I am very upset that you have decided to take such a negative attitude towards my work in Dane Valley.

All I did was raise a public safety concern, and point out Sandra Hart's lack of a response.

  1. Well I suppose one cannot blame them for getting a bit of electioneering going before the deadline date, when rules and constraints on spending kick in. Furthermore, you would hardly expect their newsletter to list their shortcomings. As with politicians of all shades it will only sing their own praises.

It must also come as no surprise that Clive Hart makes no mention of dropping their star striker or the party's internal squabbles. As to him standing down, when the prize jewel and all that lovely loot for leader of the council is so close, is in one's dreams I am afraid.

No doubt there will be a heavey influx of leaflets and canvassing as May gets closer with the usual claims and counter claims. Do we stick with what we know or do we go with Hart, Poole, Johnson, Dark & co. Scary thought!

The difference this time though is the AV referendum and that is something folk should think about and exercise their vote on. Both major parties seem split on this issue with NO and YES to AV groups in each but, if Ed Milliband is what you get from AV please give me FPTP. Felt David M came over really well on the Marr interview yesterday and must have some folk in the Labour party wondering what exactly they have done.

  2. Sadly that's politics. I doubt that the Lib Dems will be referring to their 10% support in the opinion polls, their destruction in the Barnsley by-election, the internal strife within the Party over the Coalition deals that are causing such angst. Parties are good at pretending all is well when obviously it isn't. Would that they were all more honest.

  3. You may have leaflets from Labour but what you get from the Torys is a risky pre election TDC budget with much of the pain deferred until after the election.
But thats what parties in power do just before elections.

  4. Whichever party, sadly, 9:03. Down here we have a Tory council imposing budget cuts but, in other places, they have Labour ones doing so. It is the inevitable consequence of the country's dire financial position whether that was down to the last government's mismanagement, world recession or bankers. In reality it was probably a combination of all three

  5. I wonder what situation we would have found ourselves if labour had stayed in power and kept wotsisname that Brown bloke. Poor sod was sold down the river by his mate ohhhhhhhh I forgot his name as well......... the one with the smile and a rich barrister wife CHERIE BOOTH you know the one who collects houses. Blair thats it. Still this lot who are in at the moment Clan Cameron and his goffer aint the flavour of the month, its hardly surprising our local political elite fair so badly when you look at the role models.

  6. Well done Tony,so many questions and no answers from Hart who said he would resign and Poole who said he had investigated Marks complaints, none of this mentioned in the Red Flag or whatever they call the newsletter you refer to, one thing is certain , they have'nt explained the massive split in the Labour Group, but expect the electorate to accept they are fit to govern.I think the nuclear explosion Hart refers to is the bombshell dropped by Mark within the Labour Group.

  8. There's never going to be the perfect party. Different parties will benefit different groups of people. Each person has to vote according to their conscience...

But as the little people, i don't think its unreasonable of us to expect our local leaders (of all parties) to be honest and upright. I am ashamed of the behaviour of those that hold the reins of the Thanet Labour Party. Where are their consciences? Do they really think they are going to get away with it? ~They insult us with their contempt towards the voters, thinking that they can lie and bully their way through. The party is split and they can only blame themselves.
They might succeed in sinking Mark Nottingham but they will get their comeuppance. They can't hide in the Dark forever.

  9. What's the bet the Northwood newsletter has no mention of Cllr Mark Nottingham in it? Who'll be taking credit for all his recent work then when they blow their trumpet eh?

  15. There's a heist taking place right under your noses you dozy muppets, and I ain't talking about a few sandwiches.

It's high time you faced up to it because you are letting the side down.

  16. It's a shame that so many bloggers offer just half a story, usually full of hints, veiled threats, inferences, and "suggestions". Anon of 07.56 has done it, Councillor Moores has done it with his latest Notiingham-related post (and often does it), and so it goes on.

If you have a point to make, make it clearly and without anyone having to do a reseacrh job to find out what you mean.

  17. 1:02, I (7:56) wasn't referring particularly to local government, but rather the entire system, both nationally and globally.

My point was that we're in the process of being hi-jacked by the fascist bankers and their commie cohorts and, unless we push back, we'll soon be living in a totalitarian, collectivist nightmare.

Those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.

  18. Why is everyone picking on Clive Hart it is generally known that he is a liability to his party, but a gift to the Conservatives, It is Alan Poole who has to explain himself to we who are labour supporters, it is clear from the Blogs that Nottingham is a good Councillor and that Dark is rarely seen, so come on Poole tell us what your findings are and lets have a bit of truth we are fed up, we have a leader who does'nt work for some reason or another, and according to twitter is a champion swimmer as he spends a lot of time at the pool, or in the Gym, is he fit or what
not poole, because he keeps us in the DARK but swimming pool. 6 weeks to an election what on earth is going on, either resign Hart or at least answer your critics, you were very quick in your open letter to Nottingham, and Nicholson,Harrison and Green what are you dinasours doing about sorting out the mess Hart has got you into we dont want to be kept in the DARK

    Cllr Clive Hart

    boom boom

  20. Strangely enough, 8:34, I believe I have heard it.

The even funnier one is about the deselected councillor who is trying to resurrect his career by majoring on tea bags!

    ReplyDelete
  21. And the even funnier one is the Tory Chair of Planning who endorses lies over who pays for the teabags. It's everywhere.

  22. i an a strong beliver that if both hart and poole went things might be a bit better but hart is to thicked skined to go so what does he do drag the labour group down but then that is just what they are like having heard them at full council from the back seat ,it is more like a curcis that acouncil meeting
and as for hart he has enough wind to sail ships
hart must go and now then perhaps we might have a chance to win
