Is it me or have Kent highways struck on a new way to deter motorist, driving along the Canterbury road back into Margate, last night it seemed to me that Kent's road bods must have acquired a shed load of speed camera signs as there seemed to be one attached to every other lamppost.
What is going on?
Perhaps the fact that Canterbury Road has had more than its fair share of serious accidents or that it runs by a number of schools influenced the camera siting. Then again, perhaps a mason running a speed camera manufacture business knows a mason in Kent roads department!
ReplyDeleteAnon 11.06 you are very wrong, they both belong to the same cricket club.
ReplyDelete11:06 You are so right for I used to play with them both. Mind you, I am a bit surprised because, normally, they did not get on too well. Maybe enimosity is secondary to good business practice, eh?
ReplyDeleteThis is a bit of a puzzle as way back in June KCC announced that £608,000 earmarked for new speed cameras and speed signs is to be cut.
ReplyDeleteCuts do not necessarily mean the total budget has been cancelled but just reduced. Hence there will no doubt be a few bob left for cameras where considered necessary and, seeing some of the driving along the Canterbury Road, especially the dual bit, anything to slow it has to be applauded.
ReplyDeleteThere was a typo in the Meerkat Mark Masons Lodge records. It should have read "Agreed to increase MARKET exposure of speed cameras"
ReplyDeleteMarket not Margate ... simple.
They probably need them as they are undoubtedly worried that the public will awaken far quicker than they had hoped.Must keep track of their livestock's whereabouts, whilst everything is carried out in secret all in the name of health and safety of course.
