BAWC Decide Against Manston just to Keep Economy Class ECR Happy ?

Its been announced according to Kent News (on Sunday) that BAWC, British Airways cargo, will not be swapping the operations to Manston anytime soon.

This news will no doubt be celebrated late into the night at Eastcliff Richard's, Ramsgate Mansion.

The Ramsgate media mogul has just arrived back in this country after it appears he was downgraded to economy on his return from Canada.

  1. I bet the Councillors are feeling right mugs. They were bounced into having an emergency Council meeting to discuss this and then had to stick their necks out with an illegal alteration to the Section 106 Agreement. Having done all of that, BA turns their nose up at Thanet. Ever been had?

  2. I think Michael Child suggested that perhaps BAWC were using Manston as a lever with BAA, something I sure other cynics thought of but hoped was not the case.

Still I think Infratil are still on to a winner, Cargo Lux are respected carrier and their planes are later models.

  4. Tony, please stop supporting an outfit that wants to ruin the quality of life for the people of Ramsgate. As far as Margate's concerned you're clearly what my father would have called 'a very civic-minded' man.

Try and put yourself in our position.

Even if the fabled 200 jobs (which seems to the main attraction for you) were to come to fruition, and even if those jobs could all go to Thanet workers, that would mean the following:

The maximum equivalent of 4 average residential streets in Ramsgate would have 'full-employment'

But that would leave at least 1500 streets sufferring from the terrible noise from the flights.

It just doesn't stack up surely?
