Its a way of the Tories buying our votes for next years local council elections Tony, they will say ah we've got no money, we employ cronyism we have let Margate decline, sold off the publics assets to our mates but we did run the Big Event, dont fall for it !
12.48pm is patently jealous that the Tories are able to run such a successful event six years running where other Councils have failed. I understand that this years event was attended by a large number of people flying into manston from Edinburgh which is a good news story,and some from much further afield. Although not originally programmed the Red Arrows asked if the could open the Airshow, their first of this season, can't all be bad. So author of 12.48 Tories don't buy votes and with the state of the Country under Labours rule, the best thing they can do is to be quiet
We run a business in Margate, the big event has a big impact on our trade always shut down early...it harms business in Margate, fragile as they are. The winners are the out of town traders.Is there a reason why this event cannot be held on the town's sea front? Guess our also TDC benefits with the publicity, at the end of the day it does nothing economiclly to help the town centre, which desparantly needs any help!!
Thanks for the pictures Tony, I was at work and have to pick up children later so couldn’t go and don’t think I will be able to tomorrow.
